Just wondering if any of you have an older AG doll where there are pieces of the wig that are shorter underneath... my lissie has these shorter pieces underneath the ponytail towards the bottom, but are well hidden under the pony... just wondering if this is common with some of the older AG dolls and their wigs?

yes, my sam, kirsten, molly, and felicity all have those little short parts on their wigs that hide under the style... I think its just how the older wigs were made.

The reason for cutting those areas short was to cover up the matrix of the wig, the net to which the hairs are attached. If those areas were not cut, the backs of their heads would look very weird. It is a technique used when the doll has braids, a pony tail or poodle ears.

Yeah, funny how I never really noticed them before! They are small, like maybe 1 inch long? Not really that big of a deal unless you really LOOK for them, but bothers me that they are there, ya know? My old Sam's hair is getting frizzy from sitting around in my closet for years and I havent taken her hair out of its original style but I am thinking of maybe doing so and trying to put it in the marisol type bun... to practice... I think she would look adorable!

Yeah, my Kirsten's hair is like that underneath and there's even some pieces that come up around her ears. I took some pictures of a different hairdo and I need to upload them sometime...I like seeing everyone's dolls and want to get my pics up soon.
