Welcome to the board! I started last week on the board, and I am already sooooo addicted to it! I have five dolls right now, but I want a bunch more . . .it is just the $$$$$ that is holding me back!

I know I am not the only one who is "coo-coo" in [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] with [img]graemlins/girl.gif[/img] sso my 3 sons and my husband all think I'm stark staring MAD! Hi, I am new to collecting American Girl dolls. I found a pretty nice Samantha on ebay and will receive her early next week I am thinking. This looks like a great board!
I have previously collected baby dolls as Lee Middleton, Zapf, Gotz, and Sasha dolls. I have the Wizard of Oz Mdme Alexanders.
I guess I need another addiction! Help!!!!
Please let me know the major diffence between the pre Mattel and Mattel dolls. Since I am new I am sure I will buy the newer Mattel dolls. I want to get Josefina since I live in the Southwest. She seems gorgeous and I love her little goat and all her outfits. Aw heck, I would love any American Girl doll!! [img]wink.gif[/img]

Welcome to the board. You've told us a little about yourself, but we'd like to know more!
I'm a mom of 2 girls (8&10) who both love AG! I'm not a collector, myself, but I found this board when I was looking for information on the MCM sale (a seconds and returns sale that AG has once a year) and have had such fun reading and posting here I've stayed. As long as I can live vicariously through my children and buy them stuff, I don't think I'll become an AG collector myself, but when they go off to college, or become uninterested in AG (please say it won't happen) I don't know- I may have to pick up the hobby myself!
Hope you enjoy your time on the board. I'm not an expert collector, but there are plenty here who could answer any of your questions!
