do the two drawers come out all the way or just some of the way?

They come out all the way and they hold quite a bit!

With ours you can pull them out almost all the ways, but you can't pull them out of the press-there is a piece of wood inside that keeps the drawer from coming out all of the way. Ours is preMattel, so maybe they made them different later.

When I said all the way I meant that they open all the way but are held in place so they won't fall out as in a good piece of furniture.
