I have a Gateway 200ARC. It was great for a year...then the warranty expired, and now it's been one thing after another. Guess that's what I get for wanting a the "cute" laptop. I'd say an iBook would be a good choice...I had one of the early ones, and it was a champ.

oops you posted this twice and I responded in another thread.
I recommend visiting the website Notebook Forums they give great advice and have tons of reviews and pictures. As everyone said, Macs far outstrip the competition but if you are a PC user like me, it's a bit harder to find a nice laptop that will last a long time. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for and that there's a new version of windows coming out late next year!

I have a Dell inspiron 1000... my dad bought it for me... so far it just won't install some of my games and sometimes a key sticks, but other than that it's good for me.

I didn't have any luck with my old laptop in college-after my cat ate the "W" key-it just never worked right since.
I would love an IBook or a Mac computer though.
I tell my hubby the next time we get a computer, we are settling for a MAC.
