LOL.
Last year, hubby used to work late around 10ish. So I'd go to the bookstore around 7, read for 3 hours, maybe buy one or two things and wait for him

Kit would get my vote for both the doll and the stories. As others have said, check out the books from the library to help you make the decision. Good luck deciding. They are both very pretty so you really can't go wrong.

I like Kit because of her cute freckles and eyes-and because she's a writer like me. I like Kaya because she's Native American like me (well I'm only part). So, I had to have both. I guess I'm not much help

I personally like Kit's much better, but that's an opinion thing once again...
I agree that it's a great idea to visit your library to read them. Even if you don't have a library card, you could still just chill at the library and read them- no disturbances from family either! Good luck and hope you enjoy them.
Congrats on your new Jess!

I feel like a loner here, but I seriously prefer Kaya's stories to Kit's. Kit's stories are fun and cute, but Kaya's are really touching. Good luck!

WOW You picked two of my favorite dolls.
I love Kit's swingy hair and her freckles are just adorable. She has some great accessories like her typewriter, her schoolbag, and her lunch. She also has some great oufits like her school dress and shoes (so cute) and her overalls.
As for their books, I kind of liked Kit's and I really disliked Kaya's.
I love almost everything Native American, but her meet book turned me off totally. I was sorry I read it and I avoided reading the rest for a long time. I finally got them out of the library and was glad to see that the other books were better, but still I like Kaya just for herself and don't need the stories. I like her shy almost secretive smile. She is just a gorgeous doll and all of her accessories are wonderful.

I'd go with the idea of checking the books out of the library first. I love both Kit's and Kaya's stories. I don't remember my local Barne's and Noble's ever selling the boxed sets... so if you're getting them individually anyway, why not mix and match and complete the sets later? Like, get the first three of each girl's stories now and the last three later. Then you don't have to decide between the two awesome characters!
