Wow, you have one very jealousy little girl on your hands. This is really not normal behavior for a girl her age. I don't see how one could remove the hair that formed the curls by just brushing. That took work. I think you might talk to the mother of the child telling her what happened and that maybe the girl would really like a AG doll for Christmas. Also I think the sad little girl needs someone to talk to her about taking care of things. (Also there could be way more going on that you don't know about. Such anger. I have a AG brush, it would take a lot to break it.)
To fix Felicity, I am thinking you could cut just a bit of hair to make the right length and then curl it with the AG curlers. You doll will get new curls and most likely no one will know about this horrific experience that was endured by Felicity and her Mommy. Your right you can't re-wig. The color of the PM Felicity is so lovely don't want to lose that. Also could watch eBay for a trashed doll with a good wig and then switch wigs.
I feel so sorry for you daughter. To share such a special doll with a friend that then takes anger out on the doll is very hard.

That's shocking! This girl is your friend? She doesn't know how to be a freind that's for sure. I can't belive that something so horrible could happen. I would dump her, because if she doesn't care to ruin your dolls, then what else won't she care to ruin. I feel awful for you! I think the parents should be talked to at least try. Tell them that the premattel Felicty is worth a $100, and that your daughter is so devasted...I don't know parents can be worse to deal with then the children grow up. Age =/ maturity. That's a farce. I hope that you can figure out soemthing to do, let us know what happens.

Nicole sometimes the pin curls get brushed into the wig and are hard to find, but on my doll they are somewhat stiffer then the rest of her hair. Can you find and stray hairs that seem stiffere then the rest. Keep in mind that the pincurls are longer then you might think. I would call the girls mom or have your mom call her and calmly explain what happened. (((((HUGS))))

Oh, how terrible! I would be very upset too.
I like the idea of sending her to AG for a wellness visit and perhaps they will find the curls and restore them.

That's awful. This makes me remember why I never used to let my cousins and friends play with my good toys. When some kids don't have certain things (an AG doll for instance) they just don't know the value of them. They feel like its any other toy and they play so rough with them.

This is so horrifying that it's beyond words. It's hard to understand how some children can be so clueless, and so cruel. And the evidence left in the trashed brush--it boggles the mind! I can't even imagine how much violence it took to bend and break the brush to that extent!! Maybe she stomped on the brush?!
I agree that her parents should be told--of the value of the doll, and the fact that she is retired and irreplaceable, and the evidence of the bent and broken bush, and the wrecked pin curls, and the offer to cut the hair. If they might not listen in person or on the phone, a note or card might work better. That way, the parent(s) can consider the information in private when they don't feel a need to be defensive or put on the spot.

OMG, I am so sorry! That is terrible! I am in middle school, and no one I know in my grade would be so incredibly careless with a friend's possessions. And I can't imagine how she could have ripped the pin curls right out! I would definitely tell the parents of that girl about what she did! Tell them how much your PM Lissie was worth, and that the fact that she now has no pin curls decreases her value tremendously (sp?). And I would at least ask them to replace the hair brush. Just tell them that $11 will cover an AG hair brush and shipping. Hope everything turns out all right .

A little OT, but this reminds me of the only time I ever broke a toy (I was VERY careful). The head fell off one of my Barbies and wouldn't go back on no matter how hard I tried (I think the vinyl was ripped) so I expended an entire bottle of elmer's glue trying to reattach it. Evenutally my dad used superglue on her, but there's elmer's ALL over her to this day. She's been renamed Elmie. Not sure why I thought of this, but I hope it brings a smile to a sad post.

I also agree that the parents should be told. I like the idea of telling them via note so as not to create a hostile situation. I think they should have a chance to take responsibility for their daughter's actions by reimbursing you for the brush and the wellness visit (or better yet, make their daughter take responsibility by docking her allowance). It would teach her that there are consequences when you aren't careful with other people's things.
Maybe they could also talk with her to see if she was angry about something that day or jealous that she didn't have a doll, and get her to apologize if it's found she did it on purpose. I'm so sorry about your doll,
