Lindsey's hair color?

I've never seen Lindsey in real life, only online and I'm considering rewigging a doll to look like Lindsey for my DD.
I know someone else started a thread like this recently and ya'll were great to help her with the correct 'style' of wig.
My question is this...
Exactly what hair color does Lindsey have?
Is it like a dark brown or is it a true auburn?
Most of the auburn wigs I've seen are more red than brown.
Curt's site says she has auburn hair....so..
if you were going to try to 'make' a Lindsey for your DD which would you choose?

DD wants Lindsey but, barring finding one at a TS or Yard sale, I'll never pay the price of what they are going for. DD doesn't care if she's the 'real' thing. She just wants a doll that looks like Lindsey.
My mom got a #7 on ebay that had a haircut and we thought we could re-wig her and add freckles and she'd favor Lindsey.

My Lindsey has very dark auburn hair. At first glance you might think her hair is dk brown. When she is placed next to a doll with brown hair though the red definitely shows up.

I just bumped American Mommy's thread "Lindsey is home", so you can see Lindsey's hair color. Her picture of Lindsey is one of the better ones I've seen.

Aww, Thank you for thinking of my Lindsey.And Thank you for bumping the thread back up.I love Lindsey. Her hair is a really pretty color. Lindsey's hair is like a dark brown with just a hint of red to it.A dark auburn.

Is there a link for what kind of paint to use for the freckles and how everyone did it. Also are they permanent or will they come off. I want something permanent.

If you take Lindsey out into the light, the red is much more pronounced. Inside it really does appear to be closer to brown. I have my Lindsey as my avatar, but I'm not sure if hte red shows up too well in the pic.
