Sorry to hear this happened. Even AG items will stain a doll if they are left on for too long, especially dark colors. The purple boots that came with the Go Anywhere meet outfit are one item that I know will do that, since it happened to one of my dolls. AG wouldn't replace the legs for free. Since AG dolls are considered 'play' dolls, they don't expect clothes to stay on the dolls for a long time. This was a couple of years ago, though, so maybe they have changed their policy.

Forgive my stupid question here, but how long is "too long"?

I am so sorry that that happened. Have you tried the Mr Clean eraser? I hear that works really well.
You know it really is cute that your Chris is working on fixing the dolly problem. Very sweet.

I read your post the other day but didn't have time to respond and then forgot about it. But last night at 1 in the morning, I stumbled across my bedroom and all of a sudden remembered your post. There was my Marisol, still sitting there wearing the AG black stretch velvet top since Christmas! I completely forgot about the stain-potential of that top so I quickly stripped the top off Marisol and plunked her back down and went back to bed. I've gotten up to change babies countless times in the middle of the night. But this was the first time I've ever gotten up in the middle of the night just to change a doll! Your post was a good motivator!
I hope the spots come out of your doll.

Hairspray, in a jam, works on clothes, not sure I would try it on a doll, but it does get out ink. Antibacterial gel, like Purell, works REALLY well and evaporates instantly. When my niece sharpied my daughter's doll's nails, that was the one thing that got it out, and didn't bleach the dolls.
Love,
Heloise

Yep! I have that very same raincoat. I did win mine in an auction. When I saw all the black marks on Cassie's arms, I was in tears. I e-mailed the seller to tell her about the problem and she said she'd never heard anything like that. Well...apparently I am not the only one who has had problems.
I tried everything, but the only thing that worked for me was the Oxy 10. And it did work really well...though in my stressed haste, I did accidently bleach a couple small spots on her body.

Oh no! I hope the seller will be able to help you get new arms for Marisol!
