I posted this on Ria's doll count thread, but I'm also wondering how much our board has contributed to our desire to buy more dolls! We are all bad influences, you know?

Ok, so why I am having so much fun with these numbers?
As of Maria, the count is up to 1342

Then I decided to see, on average, how many dolls each of us owned. I counted about 129 people who posted (or included posts for their family members as well), so
1342 divided by 129 =10.40 dolls on average!

Ooh wow! Well, when I joined I had seen albums w/ #24 and I had to ask for her for Christmas. Then I had to have Kirsten b/c she is my 2nd fave of the historicals. And now Kaya and Bitty Baby are coming- after seeing Kaya from different albums, she grew on me. And I had always wanted a Bitty.

The only doll I can blame on the board is Marisol. (maybe Jess, but I imagine because she shares my name I would have gotten her anyway)

BUT I think I can blame a HUGE chunk of outfits on the board.

About that average of 10--

I only posted the number of AG dolls I have, not 18" dolls. If I'd done that, my total would have been 30, instead of 13. The difference is Gotz "friend" dolls for the historical girls and Alexander Dear America dolls.

So are we counting only AGs or all 18" dolls who, of course, share the clothes, furniture, etc. from AG?

I think that count was just AG 18" dolls.
(although I think some people might have included Bitty)

If I had counted all dolls and not just AG, then my total would have been around 40. I'm having a garage sale next weekend so I can get more AG and get rid of the others that were given to me and I was never fond of.

Reading this board and communicating with different ebay sellers have both influenced me to buy more dolls, but I have learned what to look for, and how to find the prettiest older dolls, so I think the "education"from the expert AG women here has been positive for us!

I don't think I've bought a single doll because of the board.

See, I'm just completely gone . . .

Well, we're below the average with only 9 - guess we'll have to get another!

I think I do buy more because of reading the board (entirely my own fault.) But it's like anything else that I'm interested in. If I have a friend who shares a hobby and we talk about it a lot, I buy more.

I know that I have bought items on impulse because I read here that they might be retired. Sometimes that has been good (ex. Molly's Radio,) but I have decided to buy only what I really want and not be influenced by possible retirement.
