    Thanks!

this was one of the inexpensive hats they sell at AC Moore and other craft stores....I took three rows of the straw braiding off.....I then soaked the hat for about five min in hot water...that softens the straw up....at that point you can pretty much shape the hat into anything you want....for this one I just turned the bottom under and it laid it flat....so the front of the bonnet has the brim....you could hot glue it in place if you want but when it dries it lays pretty flat...I imagine if you wanted to you could cover that part with a glued lining.....the ribbon I sewed at the ends just so I could tie a tight bow...but he other stuff I just hot glued on.....soaking these hats it the key.....

I'd never have thought of that. My Marisol in my avatar is wearing a similar one, but it's one that came from e-bay, so I'm not sure where the form came from.

I'd really like to just make some hats in the different eras, to go with any of the current dresses.

    Thanks for the "Insider" info!

you can make all manner of hats just by soaking these things in water....the ones I have are about ten inches wide and really too big for the AG head but once they are wet, you can reshape them....to make them fit, or to make them a flat top or even a coolie hat if you want to....this is such a great time of year for doing hats...with Easter right around the corner....Easter hats for all the dolls...
