Opinions on Sam's bridesmaid dress

Its been hit or miss with orders from AG lately. Some outfits I really like and some I send back as I'm not too thrilled with the quality. Since Sam's bridesmaid dress is on special, I'm thinking of purchasing it.

I would appreciate any and all, good or bad opinions Is it worth ordering?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'd really like to see photos of different dolls wearing the bridesmaid dress. Since the dress is on special, I'm considering getting it and then cutting and sewing the sleeves shorter so it looks more like the vintage garment.

Sadly, this is the one and only outfit for the historical dolls that I think was a huge ooops. My advice is give it a pass.

Can anyone tell me how to treat shiny satin to give it a matte finish? The sheen is the #1 reason I don't like the outfit. If the finish could be changed, the fabric would look more like raw silk.

I might try to make this outfit myself (if I can!). It would be interesting to see if any of the skilled seamstresses could try to make something simular. I think you could find much prettier material on the market than the satin stuff AG used.

Thanks so much for posting your opinions. I really appreciate the information as I try to do a search on HB it doesn't work. The the thread and other input was the perfect resourse to decide about the dress...think I'll pass on it.
