Most of the girls don't have full names, so I just add first or middle names of my own.

My historicals are named:

Felicity Ann Merriman
Charlotte Elizabeth Cole
Maria Elena Josefina Montoya
Hana Kirsten Larson
Samantha Victoria Adelaide Parkington
Norah Deverell O'Malley...Norah is MY Nellie's first name!
Margaret Mildred Kittredge
Molly Kristina McIntire

I don't think the books ever actually say Felicity's middle name... just that some people have given her the middle name Rose.

I don't give my dolls middle names, but my husband has had Kaya adopted by the Kittridges so she is known as Kaya K (said Kay) in our house, and often as KayaK.

We've been super busy & I forgot about this thread! Laura, I LOVE your names too. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I esp. like Hana Kirsten, since my dd is a Hannah. You have a talent for picking names that flow well together. I visit another board & someone just had a baby & named her Candy-Cane. Not exactly my cup of tea.

Double names were not common until at least the middle of the 19th century but weren't really standard practice for another 100 years or so based on cemetary records and other research I have done. If you do a web search for "popular names of XX century" (XX being the century you want) you will find some interesting names. I found ane xcellent article on the naming practices of early Americans.

Rose is the name of Felicity's family's servant and I don't think it was customary to name children after servants.
