I made the J sound a few times when Josefina first came out, but my dd had read the books and was VERY quick to correct me. lol
I definitly know it is pronounced
'Ho'sefina (the J sound in Spanish/Mexican is not the same as in English.)
I sometimes hear people say Joe - sefina still after all these years she has been out.

Correctly with an H. I can't say JOE-sefina anymore because it sounds weird.
I say Ho-sah-fee-nah. I didn't take my high school Spanish classes for nothin'.
I say "Ho-sefina" because I already knew it was supposed to be that way. Lucky for me--I hate to change!
I say Joe-sefina. I know it is wrong, but I think it just sounds prettier...
Ho-say-fee-nah.
I grew up with a lot of Latinos, so I learned to change Spanish J's to H at a young age.
I definitely say ho-seh-fee-nah... I'm not quite fluent in spanish, but "joe" sefina sounds weird to me, knowing her nationality.
I definitely pronounce it Ho-se-feen-uh, and whenever someone pronounces the beginning like "Joe," I correct them, lol. I started out saying it like Joe-se-feen-uh (when I was like 6, lol), but soon I learned how to correctly pronounce it (my cousin told me how), and I've said it that way ever since . I think it "flows" better.
