I'm thinking of getting Addy's Work Dress and/or Samantha's Play Dress. Does anyone have any pictures of either of these dresses without the apron/pinafore covering them? The AG website doesn't, and I'd like to know how they look.
Thanks!

I don't have pictures, but I can tell you that I have lots and lots of AG clothes and those two dresses are my absolute favorites! I would hurry and grab them before AG does one of their disappearing acts. If I could only have one outfit for each of those dolls, those would be the ones that I would pick. I think it is because they look so much like what you would expect a real girl to wear.

I totally agree about those looking the most like a real girl from the times would wear. Especially a girl like Addy. I really wonder what they'll do when they make her movie eventually, since Sarah, her best friend, was so poor and, according to the books, pretty much wore dresses until they wore out. At least it's believable for Addy that she might be lucky enough to have new dresses, since her mom was a seamstress.
I found an auction on ebay for Samantha's Play Dress, in which the seller had put the dress's collar over the pinafore. I didn't know that the dress had a collar, and I think that that relatively simple dress is going to be adorable, and definately more accurate even for girls who weren't rich like Samantha.
I'm definately getting those two outfits. Thanks for your help!

Addy's Work dress is a definite must have. It is darling and comes with tiny little clothespins. It looks great with a variety of aprons- here's Addy with a homemade one:

I also like Sam's Play Dress quite a bit. It's a nice change from her more frilly items, yet it's still very girly. And the apron is very versatile- I use it with a variety of dresses and it even looks cute with some of Addy's and Kirsten's clothes.
Edited to add- I tried to put the actual images in the post, but HB won't let me. Oh, well- you'll have to use the links.

Thanks so much! I was kind of afraid that Addy's dress might be higher waisted because of the apron. I've definately decided to get both.
Everyone's albums are adorable!
Horsemom, that apron does look cute!

Horsemom, I love that stove you have in Addy's work dress pic! It is just perfect for an old-fashioned room!
