Bittys or ONB?

Hi all -

I took some pictures of two of my blond bittys who appear to have their palms more "up" than another blond bitty I have. They both have extremely pale lashes--I'm not sure the pictures show how pale they are.

Could y'all look at them and give me your opinion on whether either might be an ONB?

I'm not sure but I think they are both bitty babies. The palms need to be straight up and the lashes a white blond and these seem to have dark blond lashes. Dionne should be able to tell you for sure. The first one shown is questionable. It looks like it could be an our new baby.

Mary, the best way to tell the difference between ONB and bitty is that ONB has white blonde eyelashes. Also, when you lay them down their palms face upwards like this:

Our New Baby (ONB) was the original version of the doll that later became Bitty Baby. There were both boy and girl outfits and the emphasis was on teaching a child how to be a good older sibling to a new baby. There were child size clothes and a pop-up book and a complete collection. ONB dolls can be identified by white-blonde eyelashes (in the blonde babay) and "palms up". That is, the arms were sewn at a different angle than current bitty with the hands next to baby's ears when she is lying on her back. If you hold your own arms up as if you were lifting a dumbell over your head with elbows bent, that is about where ONB hands are oriented. At the time, only blonde, asian, and AA babies were produced, so if yours is med. skin or dark haired, it is 100% Bitty. The ethnic ONBs have soft dark lashes, but still have the palms up. Some people say the features look softer on ONB than Bitty dolls, but that is difficult to notice without them side by side.

DD's bitty is blonde, I bought her on Ebay, her eyelashes are very light blonde color, almost white, but her sleeper is tagged 1995, so I guess she is PM Bitty, unless that was not her original meet outfit... So the "palms up" is the only way to tell a ONB from a PM Bitty? I think Laura (DD's bitty) has these "palms up"... Does anyone have a comparison photo with ONB and BB laying down (with the "palms up" difference)? I am quite confused now [img]smile.gif[/img]

ETA: this is DD with Laura on my avatar but this sleeper is not the one she came with, she came with a white sleeper.
