Thread: First attempt at a Molly dress! PICS now!

    Okay, here it is. I went shoppong today, and came home with a bag of fabric. I just love this fabric, so I got 1 1/2 yds of it. I can make about 2 or 3 more dresses out of it. I tried to imitate a style of dress out of a library from 1942. I like it, but I haven't decided if it is actually just right yet. I would like everyone's opinion. [img]smile.gif[/img]
    I showed it to Pumpkin and the first thing I heard was "can Molly have it for her birthday?" Now molly, who ws kind enough to model it for me was squirming the entire time. I might give it....or I night not. Birthday girl will have to wait and see. [img]wink.gif[/img]

    Very cute indeed... One of the most common uses of rickrack in the 1940s and 50s was to cover the line created when the hem was let out as the girl grew. It neatly covered up what would have been a very obvious alteration...
