I have in the past. I know a board member recently had trouble using a code over the phone, but I think that was a fairly isolated incident. Tell them the code you have first and if they won't take it, call back later and hopefully you'll get someone who will.

I've had no trouble doing this in the past, but someone this month did have problems. Be sure to have all the shipping codes in case one does not work!
