I really like the look of Deborah's cherry-wood, museum-quality AG display! I don't have or plan to get duplicate dolls though, so I would use the same shelves for room settings. My doll room has lots of built-ins, customized for my dolls, but in my master bedroom (another doll zone), I have wood cabinets with glass doors. I think they look more, well, tidy for a room where the main purpose isn't dolls.

My cases are from Costco. They don't have them at Costco.com, though, which is a real bummer!

Usually, our Costco displays their furniture twice a year--after Christmas and around the middle of June. It seems like every time they have displayed their furniture in the warehouse the last couple of years, they have brought in a few of these bookcases. You absolutely cannot beat the price, though! I think they were $489.00/each. I think dollies could share the case quite nicely, though! You don't have to have duplicates.

My dream would be to have built-ins, though, and if your builder will do it for you...well, imagine how beautiful it would be!! What a dream!

We are actually going to the builders design studio today to make our last selections so I will see what they can do. It may be too late in the game for changes like that. We bought the house as a spec house so many choices were already made.

Thanks for sharing your great album Deborah and the source of those beautiful cabinets! I have a costco membership and will have to go over there and try to get more info on when the furniture will be out.

When the doll stand want on sale I bought tons (inspired by Deborah's display) so I could display the outfits I love best and have the doll on top of the cabinets.

    Decisions, decisons!

I have shelves that hang from the wall. However, the shelves I have aren't as nice as I would personally want in one one of our bedrooms. Our doll room is in the bacement...

    Thanks for the great ideas!

Does anyone recall who it was who had her dolls displayed in these really pretty dark wood cabinets? If I am rememebering correctly she had several of each historical doll.

Now I am definitely getting Molly's stage!

Thats great! The only thing I can tell you is go with hardwood floors so the dolls can stand up.

It is too late to add built ins. I think I will try to get the cabinets from Costco.

The more I think about it the more I want to be able to do more than just play with dolls in that room. I would like a small table to do crafts and scapbooking, a cozy chair to read in and have a bed for guests. The house is three bedrooms so this will be my only totally me space and I need to maximize it's use.

My third bedroom is very small, and it's hard to believe the builder expected it to be used as one. I think it is about the size of a walk in closet, but it's my room, well sort of. It serves as my sewing room, doll room, and stroage room. I am still trying to get rid of a lot of stuff, so once I do I know it will open it up a good bit. The closet is packed (I kid you not) full of stuff I need to get rid of. We've toyed around wiht the idea of making it a guest room, but there is no room too, so we may just invest in a sleeper sofa for the living room.

For your room, I suggest bookcases for the dolls, adn maybe a table too (or a credenza or something similar to one). FOr your craft stuff, I would suggest something that can open up for your use, but be put away when you have guests. Something like:

I hope that it all works out well for you.
