The black choker was my mother's. She made it for herself in the 1950's. It's a piece of one inch wide black velvet ribbon, folded into a V at the front, with a big flat button that was as shiny as a mirror stitched over the fold. It fastened at the back with two hooks and eyes.
I bet you could make one!

Love it. Amy is ROTFL especially at the first photo. She says to tell you HI. She signed up on the board, due to her age Lynnette has to send in a permission form. She can't post until then

That's your basic cheesecake snake goddess photo. What's so funny about that?

I had a dress the same style as the orange one, made from a wild turquoise print. I would add a photo of my husband and I in matching bell bottoms if I was Home.

How about this? There's a sad but very 60's story to go with this picture.
This is my fiance and I in May, 1969 on our way to our commencement ball. My mother made my gown. JRS rented a tux with a ruffled shirt. And then the ball was cancelled due to racial rioting in Hartford because there was a 9 pm curfew imposed by the police. Very 60's! We went to my favorite restaurant and were treated like royalty, which was very pleasant. Back in the 60's, showing up in a normal restaurant wearing these kinds of clothes was a little over the top but not too much. You could never do it today.
