Wowo, what a powerful subject to do. I think a No. 2 pencil may work. I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would come off pretty easily.
Hi~ My daughter is doing a project for school on the book The Devil's Arithmetic. We are using 2 Samanthas to show the main character before and after (during, actually) she is sent to a concentration camp. We want to put a tattoo on her arm, but we want to make sure that it will come off! Any suggestions? Eyeliner maybe? Thanks!

What about washable markers?
I guess I could test a couple of different things on the bottom of someone's foot. I know it's hard to imagine wanting to intentionally write on a doll.
How about a little paper and tape? Then there is no need to actually write on the doll.
I agree- You could even use satin tape, and write on it with a sharpie- you could apply it and smooth it down, then peel it off when you were done.
I would worry about using eyeliner since there are greases/oils in it that may leave behind a mark on the doll's vinyl even if the majority of the blackness does wash off.

Another suggestion is the peel off and press on numbers you can get for scrapbooking - you know the kind made out of the plastic stuff like window cling. That way you won't have any sticky tape residue.
Oh, that's a bit scary. I would try the tape - I wouldn't want to write on a doll! LOL
