I bought the Dream Big Bed Canopy now that it is down to $28. I plan on building a Medieval Pavilion for my dolls. You can see one on tent website to get an idea of what I have in mind.

There are also some good pictures of pavilions on this Webpage.

The netting that comes with the canopy set can be saved for another use. The blue canopy with tassels will work perfect as the top. All I have to do is buy fabric of desired length to wrap around the hoop and then attach the AG canopy. I haven't figured out how to stand the pavilion up yet but will probably use a dowel rod in the middle to keep the top of the canopy up.

Now, any suggestions for doll events for such a pavilion?

Thanks for the descriptions.
I don't know if this is historical or not, but a maypole dance outside of the pavilion would look lovely.

What a great idea!! You could have your dolls go to a medieval/renaissance faire. I went to one of those this summer, and it was really fun.

That's a wonderful idea, Julia! I've been collecting props and ideas for staging C.S. Lewis' The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with dolls. This would be a great idea for Aslan's pavilion! I had planned on using the circus tent from Magic Attic (and might still 'cause I'm cheap) but this would be prettier. Any story you come up with with a princess/queen/king could use a pavilion!

That's a great idea, and I second the doll Ren Faire! What else....I suppose it could almost double as a beach tent/pavillion, or (crazily enough) a canopy over a doll bed.
