Ok, Judi, I didn't post a fair response. So here's a better one.

List all the reasons you don't want Emily or her things.
List all the reasons you do want Emily and her things.
Post to the board all the reasons you don't want Emily so we can help you through it.

Alright, that wasn't fair either. Here's my last offering.

Figure out the total price of Emily items you want.
Compare that to other needs for the money. Prioritize. Make a list and check it twice. Figure out what's naughty or nice.
Then ask your dear husband to make the final decision. Knowing my dh, he won't let me send the dentist bill money to AG. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Actually, I believe Emily will stay in the states. England will take some time to rebuild and I believe her parents were to join her when they could at her grandmothers.

I'm sure after 2 World Wars... her parents had had enough!

So she'd be just as much of an American Girl as Kirsten!!

(I honestly haven't read any of Molly's books--the library never has them--so I don't really know the scoop about Emily; sorry. [img]redface.gif[/img] I just assumed she'd go back home after the war, although, that would make her a pretty poor quote-best friend-unquote...)

Maybe there will be more info about what happened to her in the Brave Emily book. [img]graemlins/wonder.gif[/img]
