I can't get my girls to wear anything else either. Luckily... because I keep buying silk from the ebay silk seller (whose first name begins with "S" so I love saying it!) every week, too. Right after the Star Festival I stocked up on nice Japanese-looking cottons from Joanns, mostly remnants, so I could spend some time innocently making yukatas. But it takes the same amount of time to work with silk as it does with cotton and the results are ... well... quite different. So I'm working on silk for a while longer. I think I'll run out of Japanese festivals in October so maybe then I'll switch? I just bought some slate gray silk with a slightly rough textured weave and I'm going to line it with scarlet. Yum. I have to figure out how to cut it so the lining will show all around the edges.

Okay, Good Night everyone! Past my bedtime and the reading light on my PC is in my baby kitty's eyes. He's got his paw delicately laid over his eyes to shade them. Perhaps he has a headache. And it's a work day tomorrow....

Cherry great photos as always. I really like the Kimonos you made the best. The e-bay sellers are nice but all alike, while yours show imaginative design. I also am drawn to your longer lengths. Will be looking forward to seeing your next creations.

Cherry, those kimono are so beautiful! I better not show my Chiyo your girls or she will die of envy! I have to say, I'm fascinated by geisha (thus a doll named after the main character in Memoirs of a Geisha) and I love that you took the time to use the proper obi tying method and the right color collars for a maiko!

Where did you get your pattern for the kimono and yukata? I just aquired a tote of many fabrics and I think Chiyo has her eye on a few of them.
