You know you're it trouble when it's half two and you've to be at work at 7, but you're having too much fun with your photo editor to go to bed...

    SO! Last night I did some photoshoots with Beatrice, which came out absolutely darling btw, and decided to put her into Kit's Christmas dress to see how it fits - it's not really my favorite, because of the fabric, but it IS awfully cute. I put a Laura Ashley doll in once upon a time, but it fit poorly, so I was also wondering how it'd look on Bea.

    And you know what? This is it:

    <img src=http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j53/bumble_bea/blog/dressex1.jpg>

    <img src=http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j53/bumble_bea/blog/dressex2.jpg>

    <img src=http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j53/bumble_bea/blog/dressex3.jpg>

    <img src=http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j53/bumble_bea/blog/dressex4.jpg>

    <img src=http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j53/bumble_bea/blog/dressex5.jpg>

    Is it supposed to be all bunchy under the arms? And I can hardly get the back to velcro! It's like I'm squeezing the life out of poor Beatrice to get it fastened. You can see how it pulls in the back views.

    Moving her arms up or down doesn't help with the pulls you can see in the front or side views, nor did trying to adjust the dress once it was on (besides, I feared that the velcro would pop open or something).

    Also, the little belt feels like it's digging into pudge.

    Is this how they all look? Is the dress just small? Is Beatrice just plump? (Well, that WOULD explain why her jeans keep falling down...) I don't have a problem with any of the other outfits I have except this one, and I even double checked that it's authentic AG, and that when I got it, I wasn't buying a clone on accident - besides, most clones I see have the collar on the other side.

    Which reminds me - the collar is a dingy reddish now, rather than a nice white.

    What should I do?

    I know things were tough in Kit's time but the problem isn't lack of fabric. It sounds like your Kit dress has been laundered and they "might" have used warm/hot water and the drier. The red tint to the collar and snug waist would be first signs.

    I am afraid that Beatrice may have to for go wearing this outfit.

    I answered this on AGPT but I'll answer here, too. This dress fits my Kit really well without any bunching. I actually think that your Beatrice is thinner than my Kit and that could be why it's bunching up. Another thing is, if you bought this off ebay it could be one of the many seconds and returns that have been listed recently. I also agree with Mrs. C. It could have been laundered. I would give AG a call about this. They're really good about replacing defective items.

    I can't answer any of your questions, but Beatrice looks adorable in that dress!

    Hi Keri!

    I have the Christmas dress--no pictures of any of the dolls wearing it though--and I would say it fits them all quite well, with no bunching or velcro issues in the back. I agree that you might want to call AG about it. Also, AG does sell the adorable, yet extremely small, magnetic scottie dog pin as a replacement part for $2 I believe. I actually just got an extra as I'm sure we will misplace ours at some point!

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh dear. I thought everyone knew not to launder polyester! Or maybe I'm just the only one paranoid enough to double check fabric types before ordering something for my doll.

    And I got it from eBay, Katie, because I didn't want the extras, just the dress. I'm silly like that, I suppose, but I just couldn't see wanting to deck my doll out in the entire set. Maybe when I call AG Monday, I'll ask for a brand new set, though - I DID just return the JLY meet outfit and accessories because I hated them on person, so I have a little credit to play with.

    Thanks for the replies!

    It sounds like there is something wrong with the dress that caused it to shrink. My Kit's Christmas Dress isn't nearly that tight on Kit. Hope that helps.
