Question

I won an auction today and within minutes got a nasty e-mail from the person who I outbid. Among other things, she said I was "sneaky" and "low". It really made me laugh! I thought about responding, but I guess I should just be the bigger person and let it go without a word. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, this has happened to me twice on eBay. I agree--better not to respond. The first time was from a lady who I outbid on a Party Planning book. She accused me of "ruining her DD's birthday" because I won the auction. LOL. It is amazing how upset people get over things like that. ENJOY your eBay win!

Wow, thats very Rude. I know that I have been outbid-but I thought thats the fun of an auction-if you want something bad enough you put in a Higher maximum bid. Ebay tells you to do that as you are bidding. SHe is just a sore LOOSER.
I wouldnt give it anouther thought, YOU WON! HAHA

Melissa,

How horrible! My DH is the ebayer in our house and I can assure you that he has never gotten any kind of rude emails from another bidder. That really sounds awful. My advice would be definitely do not respond and try to ignore it--I'm sure the person will regret sending it within a day and hopefully will apologize to you.

By the way, did you win something wonderful? I hope so!

Yes! I've also have had a couple of sore losers to e-mail me. I found the same item I won at a cheaper price on eBay and wrote back to one person telling her of the auction. Guess what? She didn't write back and the other cheaper auction ended with no bids!
I think some people just like to rave!!

I've never gotton a nasty e-mail. I one time got an e-mail from a woman offering to pay fifty dollars more then the ending price that I paid for the Lindsey I had just won.

It seems that would save the trouble of having to rely on and auction and then the seller.

I can't believe people do that, I don't think they understand that it is an auction.
