I don't have them with me for inspection but Emily's dog tags sound like what they're supposed to be, WWI dog tags. Before WWII dog tags were much less uniform in manufacture and didn't have the iconic shape that we associate them with. Many were made out of coins! And because metal was in short supply soldiers wore them on lengths of string, ribbon, or leather. There is a site with a nice overview here.
I hope that clears some stuff up.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good time - the overall event sounds like it was badly organized. What a shame they didn't explain the outfits! It's interesting to compare the AGPNY albums, and how Mel said there were little girls taking off Emily's coat from the tap outfit. I understand that little girls get overexcited about these things, but I guess some of them are too young to really appreciate it so they mess around, which spoils it for those who really do care. I'm surprised a PS didn't step in and stop them, and that the new items weren't in glass cases.
Anyway, we're all very grateful that you remembered us by sharing your lovely photos, and congratulations on an absolutely adoreable new girl!

Thanks for the great pictures! I'm glad the only item I want is Molly's Hair Curler set. I hope this will be sold seperate. It looked really cute in the pictures. Emily is pretty too, I just don't want to start collecting all the friend dolls too . I have enough money invested so far in the 8 historicals (almost complete sets!)
Thanks again!

Thanks for the pics-I think I LOVE Emily's jammies and fuzzy slippers. I'm not getting Emily-but I may need to get the jammies-I think they'd look just fine on a JLY doll.

Thanks for going and taking pics and sharing! Sorry the service was so bad. Could you tell if the dolls would actually fit in the theater seats? I don't like to squash my dolls' legs into a straightforward position. The theater seats and the ration book are about the only things I want, I think.

Cherry,
the seats look quite wide and cushy, so I do not think there will be any problem seating the girls there.

Sorry the event itself was so disappointing, but thanks so much for the pictures! Wonderful shot of the theater seats...must stop staring...
