What are the new dresses made out of? Josefina's skirt looks like a heavy cotton. Samantha's dress looks like its made of thin cotton. Are the dress fabrics of all the dolls good quality? I don't care for the thin polyester/acetate types such as Samantha's Meet dress. I think I'd rather try to make a dress than buy an AG fabric I don't care for. Do any of the new dresses close with buttons?

Samantha's new dress is taffeta . Kirsten's dress is medium weight " homespun" type cotton. The detail to each dress is impressive. They resemble no pattern that I know of and are well worth the money .

Kirsten's dress seems a little stiff, as if it has quite a bit of sizing in it.

Samantha's dress closes with Velcro. It is one of my favorite dresses. It has a lot of detail work - the tiny black trim is a small ribbon sewn onto a larger ribbon, the white yoke is pleated, and the collar and cuffs have a lace overlay. Although it appears to be a thin acetate taffeta, it has a nice crispness to it. Also, the neck line is high enough to cover her camisole.

I also have the winter party dress, which is like shmatteh compared to the talent show dress.

As for buttons none of Samantha's dress except her black and white high button shoes. Kirsten's undergarments although to close with a button down the front. It is said kids have a harder time with buttons.
