I received my doll today from Ebay!
First let me say instead of getting Elizabeth from AM they sent Felicity by mistake, so I got to see what the new ones look like! They are sending Elizabeth, since I called to let them know.
Anyway, The doll From Ebay does have the brighter red hair!
Red eye lashes and She has the Pleasant Co on her neck, but also some sort of signature behind her ear?
Was that on all the older dolls?
Does that tell me how old she is?
Thanks for any help!

Th signature is an Artist's Mark. I'm not sure how old that makes here. My Molly is from 95 and doesn't have it.

Did they all have an artist mark at one time?

Artists marks have nothing to do with age. I suspect it's more about the face mold, that was probably put on when the mold was still owned by Gotz.

I have PM dolls with it, and some without it, and some Mattel dolls with it, and also some without.

If you do a search for "artist mark" you'll see we've talked about them a few times, and no one seems to be exactly sure of their purpose .
