Holiday Gift Basket

AG Mommy and I are working on a n AG gift basket for a special little girl, "E." E loves AG and has had a lot of challenges in her eight years. (I am cutting most of the explanation of what we're doing and who E is-- if you have questions please PM one of us!)

What about a holiday dress? Or a quilt?
Or as a ay to send money I can do a raffle for a quilt (the blue, green, and black one I had you guys help me choose the layout on; I backed it with turquise fleece instead of using batting). Would anyone be interested in doing the raffle? Would a raffle be against HB rules?

We don't have a set deadline, but we'd like to order as soon as possible to avoid any danger of Emily selling out. I think the first week in December will be the latest we could safely place the order.

Raffles and auctions are a sticky issue on the board and I completely respect the Mods feelings on this. If someone wishes to sell something in the sale sticky thread and donate the profit, that's their choice and I believe that would be fine, but I don't think we should do raffles or the like. Besides, in my experience, the wonderful people here would rather give to a good cause then buy a raffle ticket, this board is full of amazing people!

For those who have posted and PMed me about donating items-- I will get back to you with the address very soon. AG Mommy and I are still sorting some details.

I appreciate everyone's support and generosity so much! I will be updating the first post in this thread every day or two so we can track what has been donated and what we still need. You guys are the best!

Thank you all so much! I can tell you that "E" is a very deserving little girl. She has endured more in her short life than many of us have had to in our longer ones. Her mother takes escellent care of her and the little that they have. "E" is a very smart child who loves to read and dolls. She is very tender with her Fake AG and is in awe when she sees DD out with hers. Your generous gifts will be delivered by a pastor here in town. Please PM if you would like more info. Thank you all again for all the help. I know together we can provide this child with a very memorable holiday as well as a "friend" she will cherish for a lifetime.
