Those of you that thin out your doll collection, how do you do it? I look at the dollies faces and they say " dont get rid of me, I love it here".... I do have a collection that is growing at an alarming rate, and I need to get rid of some of them... those of you that do part with them, how do you decide? Do you keep the ones that are most unique? Keep the ones that you display or play with most? Keep the valuable ones? How do you personally decide what one stays vs what one goes? AAK! :/

I (usually) get rid of the ones that I don't "bond" with, or the ones I don't "bond" with that much.

I wish I had that problem!!
However if I did...I would keep the ones that were the most special to me. It wouldnt matter to me whether one of them is more valuable...If I'm not close to her, I'm just not.

Oh Goodness. I have absolutley no good advice to give you. I have duplicate Kirstens and #21's, and I am trying desperately to decide which duplicates to part with. They are all so unique in their own way! What to do? Hubby says to keep them all, but with other things I would like to have, I can't see keeping them. I feel your pain!

I have decided that the ones that sit in the boxes the longest are being sold.. whether I like it or not.... that means I will be selling quite a few within the next few months... prob part with them slowly, to avoid shock! LOL
I would love to have a small collection like no more than 12?
I dont think that will happen... heh

Just one bit of advice having been there....make sure you are absolutely sure before selling one of your dolls. You really need to be clear in your mind that you are fine with her going to a new home or else it will eat at you for a long time. Imagine after she's gone if you will be sad or glad that you have more energy to focus on another doll. Good luck! It's almost like choosing between your children!

"Thinning out a collection?" "Selling your dollies?"

I cannot comprehend this! Someone fetch the smelling salts - quick! *sinks slowly to the floor in a fainting spell*

Selling dolls is a very permanent solution!

Try putting a few in storage first, or moving a few to another room. See if that makes your collection feel better.
