OT: Permanent Marker, is there any way to remove it?

My daughter got permanent marker on her new jeans and since you all gave me some amazing and simple tips for removing the red ink off her white pants I thougt I'd bother you once again with some laundry help. It's dark green permanent marker and it's a slash about 1-2 inches long right on one of the front legs, of course.

I always use hairspray-the cheaper the better.

Thanks, I used to use that for ink stains but it quit working or I quit buying the right kind. Anyways, I hadn't thought to try it on permanent marker.
