I was planning on downy-dunking Felicity, Kirsten and Josefina this summer.
Lindsey and 21 (Cristel)'s hair is also a candidate for downy-dunking but I'm afraid their curls will straighten. They're not HORRIBLE, but I'd like to do this before their hair gets worse. Is there any way to restore curls or make sure they don't straighten after downy-dunking? Or should I just not downy-dunk these girls after all?

The downy dunk shouldn't remove the curl, but steaming will. You can put the curl back in with rollers and water (cold for temporary curl, hot for permanent curls).
Personally, I wouldn't steam Lindsey. I haven't had good results with restoring Lindsey's hair; the texture is too different. That's just my experience though, and someone else may have some ideas that will work better for you.
I'm getting ready to do a Sam & a Kirsten to resell. They are in really good condition, so I'm feeling pretty good that their restorations will turn out really well.
