I just bought a PM Addy whom I thought I had never had her hair brushed. Well her hair is one big rats nest (that was tamed in a braid). How do I fix this???
Will the downey dunk work on the textured hair? Should I use a brush or a pick to brush it?
Thanks in advance
Kym and Addy

The downy dunk works on Addy, but before you do any brushing, I'd ask prasnlrd--she's our resident Addy expert!

Yeah ask Sheila.
I'd personaly not brush it if it were really tangled, instead trying to get the worst of it apart with my fingers, and then brushing once I got most of the tangles outs, but I don't know.

Kym,
here's what I do
First I spritz Addy's hair with a ton of water
then I divide her hair into a bunch of small section
Next I carefully untangle all the knots from a few strands of hair at a time. I start from the TOP and work my way down until all the knots are untwisted.
I keep spritizng with water as needed.
Once her hair is unknotted, i gently comb through her hair with my fingers. Then I brush with the AG brush from the bottom to the top to smooth out the tangles. She sheds a lot and always looses a ton of hair but she has very thick hair so I don't worry too much.
Congrats on your new Addy!

I also finger-comb my Addy's hair before brushing it to get most of the knots out. I use a wire pick from Sally's Beauty Supply, though. It doesn't seem to pull as much hair out and for 39 cents it's worth it.

Thanks. I will try that. I soaked her hair in downey for about an hour. It really didn't do much?? Her hair is quite matted. I will try again tonight.
