Myself and a friend are flying to Chicago especially to visit the American Girl Store May 11-13th.

We have booked and paid for the tickets, but have no idea on where to actually stay. Ive been online searching for the last 3 hours but have NO IDEA on what i should be looking for.

Has anyone stayed anywhere they can recommend ?? Does anyone know where/how to get the best price ??

Im just getting completely confused and "befuzzled" (??) by all this now...

Thanks soooo much in advance for ANY and ALL help,
Tracey

You could try one of the hotels that AG has on their AGPC page!!

The Inner Continental Hotel about 5 blocks away from AGPC is great!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites and asked for the AG discount. DH felt it was a good rate compared to anything he could get with AAA. It was a little far but we walked it several times loaded with packages and all. The year before we stayed at the Marriott. My FIL had points there. It is only a few blocks away. It was out of our price range last year.

I don't know your budget, but we have a couple of kids and usually get a suite at the Red Roof Inn. Normally we wouldnt choose Red Roof, but its only a couple blocks from AG, the suites have 1 1/2 bathrooms, a fridge, and livingroom which is helpful with 4 people in a room. It's not as beautiful as some, but it's practical.

To be honest, we only sleep there and I'd much rather spend my piles of cash at AG...lol!

Make sure you inquire about parking fees at ALL hotels. I found some didn't disclose them upfront when you call!

Mom & I stayed at this hotel: http://www.senecahotel.com.

It is two blocks, kitty-cornered, from AGP. A short diagonal trip through Water Tower mall gets you there. It takes less than 8 minutes to walk to AGP. It's a remodeled "hotel for women" (apartment building). Our room included a queen sized bed, a large bathroom and a small kitchen (completely equipped, dishes & all). With parking, the price was right around $130/night. If you take a shuttle from the airport to downtown, you'd save $35/day in parking.

Have fun!!!
Heather
