Samantha's BED or DESK?

I don't have Samantha's desk, but I do have the bed. It is beautiful! I definitely recommend it. I think someone mentioned they could fit two dolls in it, but I have never been able to fit more than Samantha in it. It is somewhat large, but very sturdy. You will have to make sheets for Samantha if it bothers you to have her sleep on the mattress because the bed only comes with the mattress, comforter, and pillow, but they should be very easy to make.

Personally, I'd get the bed from AG and a knock off desk. We got a very close copy of Sam's desk at a store called Pat Catan's which is local, but I know I've seen many on ebay. I'd splurge and use the cash for the real bed!

I agree with the others. Get the "real" bed, and look for a good copy of the desk. I've seen desks which are a close copy before, but the beds I've seen are cheap in comparison with the real thing.

After all, she has to sleep every night, right??

The bed is nice. The desk is cute, but even though it is metal, whatever finish they put on the metal part makes it look plastic IMO. It does not look close to wrought iron at ALL--way too smooth, for one thing.

The bed. Wroght iron used for furniture probably isn't as rough as wrought iron used for, say fences.

Definitely the bed. I bought the desk on eBay, authentic AG, for $22 plus shipping. Scratches on wood can be touched up easily. But the bed tarnishes, could get scratched, comforter stained, ribbons missing, balls on the post missing..too much can happen to the bed to buy it used. I would rather get a new one from AG and the Sweet Dreams collections are still available at the store and maybe even over the phone. Samantha's saves you about $20.

The bed for sure!! The American Girl dolls don't sit well enough, IMO, for there to be much play value with a desk.

I would go for the bed.. little girls like to put their dollies to bed.. and even still, I like to do it and I am 34! LOL!

My dd will be getting Nellie for Christmas from my mom and I wanted to get her furniture. Which should I get from Samantha's collection? Bed or Desk? or any other ideas? thanks.
