I know this topic was discussed before, but I didn't pay much attention to the answer. Now I have a Lindsey and her body tag reads "American Gril". It this a fake or did authentic Lindseys get this tag? Thanks, Holly

My Lindsey came from AG and says American Gril on the tag. Not all of the official Lindseys from AG seem to have the gril tag however. The theory I heard was that one of the lindseys used to copy all the fake lindseys from must have been one of the ones that said gril on the tag. The best way to tell is by looking at the face. I know AG teacher had some comparison photos of fake Lindsey with real AG's in her imagestation album. Does anyone remember the address for that?

I have a Lindsey that I purchased either at AGPC or from the American Girl website, I can't remember which. The point is that I got my Lindsey directly from American Girl and mine also says "American Gril", so yours is probably authentic. I do wonder if all of the Lindseys have that, or ones shipped out at a certain time.

My Lindsey has the "American Gril" tag, too. I ordered her through customer service, as I was exchanging something.

Only Nora says American Gril, and Lindsey says American Girl. I was a time where there are some Lindseys and Kayas that went out with American Gril. Holly, if you are still not sure, post a picture and I can tell you right away.

My Lindsey says American Gril as well and she is authentic so really the only way to tell if she is real is to look at the face.

Thanks everybody for your answers. My doll looks real enough, so I'll assume it is! Holly

This reminds me of an old joke:
A woman went into a washroom where there was some harmless graffiti on the walls. One message said "Kevin loves grils." Some compulsive person had crossed out "grils" and printed "girls". Someone ELSE had crossed out "girls" and written "What about us grils?"
Corny - but funny all the same.
