Bush and Kerry both supported the bill that has the FCC cracking down on radio and tv content.
no amount of voting in the world would have helped this.

..well, yeah, but Kerry was lying.
They all lie....and badly too.
Politicians fall 4 steps below used car salesman as far as integrity and sincerity.

Quotes from Ray Cole, president of Citadel, which owns WOI-TV in Des Moines, KCAU-TV in Sioux City and KLKN-TV in Lincoln, Neb.
"We're just coming off an election where moral issues were cited as a reason by people voting one way or another and, in my opinion, the commissioners are fearful of the new Congress," Cole said.
"We have attempted to get an advanced waiver from the FCC (news - web sites) and, remarkably to me, they are not willing to do so," Cole told The Des Moines Register.
Yes, both Bush and Kerry - and the entire Senate and House, practically - bent over for the stupid bill. Why? Look around you. Our citizens and their ass end backward ideas on vulgarity and sex are to blame. Millions of people over reacted to the stupid Janet Jackson thing, blowing it way out of proportion, fueld by conservative religious groups, and scared the hell out of politicians, who at the end of the day, are supposed to do what the majority wants. They did their job - they gave us what we cried for.
You know who is really hurt by this? Not us - we can watch Saving Private Ryan uncut on one of 20 cable movie channels, some of them in high def. I can see uncut flicks like South Park or Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back late night on Comedy Central, because the FCC can't say squat. Nope, the first victims in all this forced censorship stupidity will be the networks, who are already failing miserably when it comes to competing against the cable stations. All the creative stuff, like Deadwood, Dead Zone, The Shield, Dead Like Me, Six Feet Under, and Curb Your Enthusiam all end up on cable channels, while network television falls further down the path of reality shows, LA Law and CSI.
BTW, isn't this what those stupid television ratings and v-chips were designed for? How can the FCC complain if the show is rated, and you can use the V-chip to stop it. This isn't like somebody swearing at an awards show or flashing their rather lame breast unexpectedly - everyone knows in advance what they're tuning in to! That tells me that it's actually the network stations taking a stand against the FCC, trying to prove a point before things get further out of hand. Let's hope it works.

Preach on MWC!
isn't it cool how a hyphen changes everyone practically bending over to practically everyone bending over? That's because the panda eats, shoots, and leaves. We need tougher gun laws on pandas.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I just got to the end of the article and saw that the one station is airing "Return to Mayberry" in it's place. That's hilarious - you have to admire that stations sense of satire.
