It seems that a Texas school had a tradition of "The Woman Is Requested to Pay" (TWIRP) day, where guys dressed as girls and girls dressed as guys. I guess it was kind of like Sadie Hawkins day. Anyhoo........ it's now cancelled because a group thought it was too 'gay'.

" If cross dressing is allowed today, why not tomorrow? Who knows where this will lead."

    Don't mess with Texas !!

God forbid men wear skirts and women wear pants!

Why, soon all those homosexuals will be demanding equal pay or, dare I say it-- equal rights!

I wonder how it feels to be in the 21st century, but living hundreds of years in the past.

    Thumbs up

Yeah, I saw that too. This is the quote that killed me:

"It might be fun today to dress up like a little girl -- kids think it's cute and things like that. And you start playing around with it and, like drugs, you do a little here and there (and) eventually it gets you," Davies told reporters.

I, for one, am glad they put a stop to it. Can you imagine what the parents must go through having to buy extra clothes that only get worn once? Plus, this sort of non-conformity for tried and true dress code criteria stains the merits of schools that inforce the wearing of proper uniforms, which is imperative to a child's development.

And don't get me started on the negative connotations and degrading social impact that the word "twirp" invokes.
