Good god. That's one rotund squirrel.
Squirrels always used to keep away from our house because we had cats that were excellent hunters. When we first moved here, our yard was completely cleared of rats, mice, squirrels, chipmunks, and snakes. The cats even took a crack at the frogs and toads, but gave that one up as a lost cause.
But after all of our good hunters got old and died, we were left with fat lazy cats who would rather snooze on the porch than chase down small fuzzy snacks on legs. The squirrels have started coming back..I found one perched on the hood of my car the other morning.
I don't mind them, though..I love rodents, even though when the mice invaded the laundry room, we had to break out the poison cause they completely ignored the no-kill traps, and were chewing through the wires. My mother declared it the last straw when she discovered a mouse napping in the hood of her coat.
