What I find amazing is how many of us have the right size marble just sitting around in the house somewhere.

Way back when I was a wee lad (okay, wee-er than now) on the playground of formidable Catholic elementary school, marbles was a serious racket. Kids set up shop like an old Middle Eastern market with their impossible length shooting galleries scratched in the coarse sand barking out, "hit it you get a steely boulder!" (A fight once broke out when a kid hit it on his first try. The prize was an industrial size steel ball bearing. Needless to say, the owner was convinced to give it up!) Out further in the fields one could witness gaming youths challenging each other to one on one shoot outs. Marble cartels boomed and gang wars broke out over who had the most puries. Marbles were the bomb! By fourth grade it all but disappeared.
*sigh*
memories...

If this keeps up, marbles could be the next Texas Hold'em!
