I remember the first time I saw the cover of the Piece of Mind LP I was freaked out. I was about 7 or 8 and thought it looked great but fucking scary at the same time. It was many years before I actually started listening to Iron maiden.
so

Derek Riggs
pom big

Later, I became a fan of Diego Rivera dr205

and Godin.

For me it was a huge book my family had of Michelangelo's paintings of the Sistine Chapel. Those images still inspire me. I was lucky enough to visit the Sistine Chapel in 1986 while they were restoring it. It was halfway done & the difference was very noticable.

The other major artistic influence in my life was Jackson Pollock. I must have seen paintings in a museum, because my parents didn't like his work at all.

Michelangelo & Pollock... polar opposites...

Besides the classics like Michaelangelo, and Da Vinci, My faves and influence often came from LP Covers..i.e. "Fantasy Art" Roger Dean, Peter Lloyd, Frazetta, etc.... Edit: Oh and of course H.R. Giger (duh) I must be over tired.
