Why do the original songs have to SUUUUUUUCK so much???

Crappy crappy ballads??? They might as well have given Bo a polka or nursery rhyme to work with.

Carrie's voice suited the two original songs better.... but I wouldn't pay money for recordings of EITHER of those songs by EITHER of them.

BOTH of them are good singers.

Just when I thought the producers were actually LEARNING something from previous seasons (Clay outselling Ruben)...

... they choose songs for them to sing that clearly gives an advantage to a sing-songy female vocal.

ESPECIALLY since it was one cover and two originals, why couldn't ONE original be a ballad and the OTHER be an upbeat song??? Even if it was a country-rock-ish song, Carrie could have done it more Country and Bo more rock... but it still would have been better than that soggy-cardboard bullshit that they gave them to perform.

I agree baimun those songs were garabge, but bo and carrie need not worrie cause they both are going to have record deals.

Good luck to both of them cause they were by far the best of the lot.

And even though carrie is a hometown girl here, im pulling for bo cause im sick of country singers, garth was enough to damn near make me leave okc lol.

This opinion isn't horribly popular with my wife and particularly with a daughter who wants to be a singer for a living......

... but I honestly feel that Female vocalists don't tend to have as interesting of voices as men. They often have wider ranges, but their voices seem to be more interchangible.

The ones who DO have unique sounds tend to have huskier, raspier, or more masculine voices.

I'm not saying men are better singers than women... I'm just saying that male voices are often more distinctive.
