After looking at that picture... holy crap.
I didn't even know they could do that... but I don't know shit about the thingamajigs in vehicles, so....
Had the day off and decided to take a road trip. Didn't get very far. I was getting off the highway to hit up a few stores and my truck started shaking like you wouldn't believe. Thankfully I was at the end of the ramp and was able to stop it without killing anybody. I'm no mechanic but I knew right away "that's no flat tire." I check under the truck and see this:
Son of a bitch!
The only service garage in the area was a Ford dealership, so I grabbed a tube of lube and walked in to have the truck towed/fixed.
Needless to say, I won't be making any impulse toy purchases in the near future.
While I'm in bitch mode I might as well add I saw Episode 3 yesterday...disliked it so much I'm thinking about dumping most of the Star Wars collection (not that I have a ton of it).
Hope your day is going better.

Oh I feel for ya bro.
Like right after I did the intake upgrades on my Porsche..... went out driving... slowed down to pull into my driveway and suddenly KLUNKLUNKLUNK....

I had actually sheared off the 6 bolts that attach the driveshaft to the wheel bearing.
It seems that with horsepower increases, you need to make sure all the hardware down the line is in perfect working order.... or the extra power has a tendency to "break stuff"

I had the exact same thing happen on my 86 Escort... The thing was bucking like a highly paid prostitute...
And unfortunately, those are hard to find on clearance

The tie rod itself looks fine. Appears from the photo that you either lost the cotter pin and nut that hold the end onto the steering arm OR you sheered the tie rod end stud off. Either way, it's a pretty simple fix with hand tools and a new tie rod end.

Just to remind you guys.... I no longer have a Porsche. Just a boring old Caddilac.
And my wife has no complaints either.
I know.
and you're welcome!
(sorry, couldn't resist)
