Yea, it's a statue - isn't that what Mcfarlane collectors buy? It's resin this time, but c'mon...

With the Attakus one coming out at the same price point, I doubt there's much chance this is going to be something that rises in value. Add to that how poorly any of the Shrek 'collectibles' have done (you can pick up those MR busts for around $15 if you hunt, and they kick ass), and I'd say wait on Puss and pick him up on ebay.

I do like McToys sculpt better than Attakus', but not having whiskers was a big mistake.

Any online pics of the attakus one?

I might cancel our order if it looks better, IMHO.

Strike that.. googled and found him with the first link.

The attakus one is tiny in comparison though... and the original shrek dragon went up in price right away, because of the scarcity.

I don't really like to speculate on CC figures, and their futures though.

(I agree though about the lack of whiskers.. they can easily be customed on, but for $60, you shouldn't have to add anything.)

I rethought it, and jut cancelled the order.

Especially after looking at the GREAT 12" shrek 1 figures that were in Walmart from McFarlane when the 1st movie was released. Shiner scored them for less then $10 each... that kinda makes a Puss the same size a little harder to swallow.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'd swear I read on the wb that the final product will have whiskers (but I'll be damned if I'm going to go look for it ).

Well, if it does, they aren't showing a photo of it that way in the CC as part of the sale.

Jon did post in one of his updates (the one where he announced and showed the pics for it) did say that the whiskers just weren't there when they did the photo for the box and such, but the final product would have them...

Although they've been saying the cape for Spawn i.30 is "only a few weeks away" for months......so take it as you will

If he was in the $30 pricepoint like their other 13" or so offerings, I wouldn't hesitate, but it just smacks of "Sideshow toys syndrome".

(See how high they'll actually go for some of this stuff.)

And I've found almost all the Sideshow 12" higher priced figures at 20 or so, after about a year.

Only ones that I haven't seen are the 12" creature, and the Nazi Kronen.

And with the way things are, I'm buying all last year's releases now for 1/2 their original prices... and next year, I'll buy this year's figures at the same rate.

And those figures I can't find cheap, I can still usually find at or around their original prices, so I've still managed to save 1/2 or so on sideshow products.

Some I've even seen cheaper.. 12" Buffy Prophacy, Willow, Master, Vamp Willow, and Oz all for $15 or under.

I'm just working the current system.
