First off, I finally tracked down a Radicon robot to complete my own personal gang of 5 (*6). These are mini reproductions of vintage Masudaya tin robots from the 50s & 60s that now cost up to $20,000 each! These repros were made in the mid 90s by Rocket USA. Masudaya later sold their own versions in Japanese boxes.

Original labeled the "Gang of 4", Machine Man turned up in the 1990s and it was soon discovered that quite a few had been made back in the day. Some suspect MM was a fabrication of left over parts from the other four robots.

*Another late discovery became the unofficial 6th member of the Gang of 5, Shooting Giant Robot (green guy far right). This was a prototype offered in a 1965 Sears catalog but was never mass produced due to lack of interest.

I've been getting into rockets lately. This one I had in my childhood. It's a multi-stage Mecury rocket by an unknown manufacturer (if anybody knows anything about it let me know!)

By squeezing the fins of the top stage you can launch the red capsule (with 2 chrome astronauts inside) into orbit.

Here it is displayed with another tin rocket I recently acquired.

Sweet... I had that exact same rocket as a kid.

I also have one at my Dad's house that is all metal and is a piggy bank. You pull this little spring thingee back, put a coin in, push the button and ZINGGK!!!! The coin literally disappears!!!

It fires the coin from the spring area up into the overhang of the nose cone and inside the bank. Pretty cool.

Wow, I guess this rocket was more popular than I originally thought! Cool! (or am I betraying the board's baby boomers?)

Of course my new fiancee, Street Worm, is the internet bloodhound. I didn't realize that there were several variants to this rocket. I don't think I ever remember seeing the Apollo version.
