Tonight at 8 pm I have announcer tryouts for the Kansas City Roller Warriors!
The Kansas City Roller Warriors, LLC, is Kansas City's premiere all-female roller derby league and I have been a big fan and supporter of the league for years.
They stated two weeks ago that they would be having announcer tryouts and I decided to give it a try. Tonight I will be going up against 11 other folks for 3 announcer spots.
I do have one leg up on the others and that is tryouts will be overseen by D'Nouncer Duane. He will have a major part in deciding in who he wants to work with. He happens to be one of my oldest and closest friends. That does not mean that I will not be giving my 100% but I know that even if I don't make it, I will have someone to go get drinks with after it's over.
Well, off to study the rules again. You can never be to ready.

Well, I think it went great! It turned out to be 2 spots they were filling and only 7 folks showed up out of the 11 that were going to be there. The two spots they were looking for were co-announcer and crowd-rouser. My tryout for co' went off without a hitch. I called the Jams with no problem and was able to do some ?color-commentary? as well. I kicked ass as the crowd-rouser. Out of all 7 of us I was the only one who got (positive) response from the folks watching the practice. Now I just have to wait to get the e-mail that has the "who made it" list.
Not going to count my chickens before they hatch. The other guys and one gal all did real good.
I think it will be hard for them to chose.
