Known first as the Atari VCS (Video Computer System) later renamed the 2600 the atari was the first system to gain worldwide popularity after the public found out you could play more then just PONG. You could now play great hits like Advenure Where you could have your brave little errr square fight off dragons, bats etc in variouse castles, mazes and rooms. Atari also went on to licence great arcade hits of the day such as Space Invaders and Pac Man.

I love the old system... of course, I remember when Asteroids were the greatest graphics out there...

I do still hang an old 2600 game out on the tree every year at Christmas for that old song "... and a Cartridge for Ataaaar-iiii!"

good stuff indeed, i used to play my atari and coleco in the basement when i was just a youngin, oh the pain life must've been before video games were the staple in the home. i was lucky and was born just at the right time as never haveing to endure the sting that is "family interaction"

There was one video game that I played once in a while.......
my buddy had it-
you fly a space ship & shoot at stuff but what was cool was the underground refueling stops.......

What was it?

regardless-
I'll take a cool pinball machine any day

LOL! How fitting that I'm wearing my ghosts tee today (sans Pinky, oddly enough). Sweet.

...what the hell does my Vietnamese gardner have to do with the VTOTD? He's supposed to be trimming the topiaries this afternoon!
