I imagine that was for his cryogenic incarceration and not considered a cybernetic improvement.

She took baths in her own tears, so who can say if she was into prosthetic devices? She did say it was "cold" which made me wonder at the time where he had his toes...

I went to imbd.com and the reviews, although mostly positive, don't really give you anymore idea what this film is about.
Although one reviewer did mention that the CGI characters were all artificial to some degree (cyborgs and such) and the "live" people were pure humans with no cybernetic implants at all. That kinda made sense.
