The Devil's Rain (1975)

Campy as it is creepy, "The Devil's Rain" stars Ernest Borgnine as the head of a devil-worshipping coven in an Arizona town. Using occult spells and objects, including the "Book of Names" and the aptly named "receptacle of souls", Borgnine wreaks havoc on the town, eventually murdering the loved ones of family man Tom Skerrit. Skerrit, bent on revenge, takes on the coven. William Shatner and John Travolta have minor roles in this horror flick which was released in 1975, a full two years after production.

    Unhappy

when i was a child, adults used to calm my fears by assuring me i'd never have to see william shatner in a cowboy hat, tight jeans, and a giant disco medallion...

i know now that all adults are liars...

Man, there sure was a lot of melting in that movie. There was more melting in the last 15 minutes than the entire 90 minutes of The Incredible Melting Man... They melted the HELL outta those devil worshippers!

Also, the only truly scaring thing in the film was the idea of Ernest giving ANYONE a hug....
