Hmmm... that's hard. I listened to a lot of stuff when I was a kid. My Mom was very openminded musically. I also have an Uncle who's only 10 years or so older than me, so I got a lot of music from him too. I remember loving Fool In the Rain by Zep when I was like 6. I also remember loving Alice Cooper's albumn Constrictor at the same time. So, I had a lot of influences around. I remember I used to listen to a station called Tower 98. They played a lot of absolute crap, but when the Alternative scene started exploding, they started playing some of that. I remember Linger by the Cranberries and Longview by Green Day reshaping my musical views. Shortly after, Nirvana remolded me again. Discovering the depths of underground punk was another wonderous occurance. Looking back, I would have to say that I have been continually molded by music.

Frank Zappa "Hot Rats" 1969

There was a very cool show on a local college radio station that used the song Peaches En Regalia as a closing them to their show.
I had never heard music like that-called the station to find out who it was.
The DJ guys were very cool to me (considering I was like 11) and turned me on to lots of cool stuff.

The seeds to me and weird music were started very early though-
The first album I ever bought with my own money was-
Batman and Robin - The Sensational Guitars of Dan & Dale (1966-Tifton Records)

12

What's weird about this album is that it's by Sun Ra & Al Kooper's Blues Project.

It was recently rereleassed on CD and I just had to pick it up again........
(for better or for worse)

Def Leppard - Pyromania

That was the first non-kids album I owned. Went down hill from there My second was Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast.
